The journey
The Everest Base Camp trek is the ultimate bucket-list adventure. Over 12 days, you'll fly into the legendary Lukla airstrip, trek through traditional Sherpa villages, visit ancient Buddhist monasteries, and stand at the foot of the world's highest mountain and climb Kala Patthar at 5,545 metres for the ultimate panoramic view.
The trail takes you through Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with views of Everest (8,849m), Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and dozens more Himalayan giants. You'll also climb Kala Patthar (5,545m) for the most iconic panoramic view of Everest.
Your experienced local guide handles all logistics, navigation, and acclimatisation decisions so you can focus entirely on one of the world's great journeys.

Route overview: Kathmandu to Kala Patthar via Everest Base Camp
The day to day
Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400m)
+Airport pickup, transfer to hotel in Thamel, trek briefing with your guide. Gear check and final preparations.
Fly to Lukla (2,840m), trek to Phakding (2,610m)
+One of the world's most spectacular flights lands you in Lukla. Short 3-hour trek along the Dudh Kosi river to Phakding.
Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
+Cross suspension bridges through pine forests. Steep climb to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest. First views of the mountain.
Acclimatisation Day in Namche
+Critical rest day. Optional hike to Everest View Hotel (3,880m) for panoramic views. Explore the Sherpa Culture Museum and weekly market.
Namche to Tengboche (3,867m)
+Trek through rhododendron forest with views of Ama Dablam, Everest, and Nuptse. Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Khumbu.
Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m)
+Descend to Pangboche then climb steadily to Dingboche in the Imja Valley. Vegetation thins as you enter high-altitude terrain.
Acclimatisation Day in Dingboche
+Second acclimatisation day. Optional hike to Nagarjun Hill (5,100m) for stunning views of Makalu, Lhotse, and the Imja Valley.
Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m)
+Trek past the Thukla Pass memorial, with stone cairns honouring climbers lost on Everest. Rugged high-altitude landscape with glacial moraines.
Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,164m), Everest Base Camp (5,364m)
+The big day. Trek to Gorak Shep, drop your bags, then continue to Everest Base Camp. Stand at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall. Return to Gorak Shep for the night.
Kala Patthar (5,545m), descend to Pheriche (4,371m)
+Pre-dawn start for the sunrise climb of Kala Patthar, the best viewpoint of Everest. Then descend rapidly to Pheriche for well-earned rest.
Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
+Descend through Tengboche and back to Namche Bazaar. The air thickens, the lodges get warmer, and the feeling of accomplishment grows. Last evening in the Sherpa capital.
Namche to Lukla (2,840m), fly to Kathmandu
+Final descent to Lukla, retracing the suspension bridges and pine forests. Afternoon flight back to Kathmandu. Trek complete.
